I was hoping for a snow day today, but I guess no can do. We really should save some taxpayer money on snowplows and school.
We don't learn anything anyways. Why bother.
I made the musical, and I'm on the swim team. If I do the musical, the swim coach will yell at me and machine gun me to pieces. If I swim, then I will be humiliated as I fail to sing a song.
As I said, there's a balance between focus in one activity and spread in many activities. If I were you, I would try for the musical if you think you can make it -- you're already an expert swimmer, and a day or two off (or more) can't possibly hurt. If your coach expects you to have no life outside of swimming, then he's working you too hard.

Our school band is very motivated, very serious, and very successful. Yet the Director still understands and respects other commitments. I highly doubt that your swim coach won't do the same.
Apparently, not everyone has the same ethics.
