Edu. Part 2 Why the *beep* am I learning this?

There's a slight problem in school. Most liberals would have to believe we're not being educated the "correct" way, per se. This is indeed a hotly debated subject, with many complaints around the world. Obviously you, as a student, may very well have some dogmatic opinion upon the schooling; if you do so, please leave your comment. After gathering opinions from several sources, I came to the conclusion that what we are learning may either be not suitable or just plain useless. And what we actually learn has no or very little application for the future. This is unacceptable.

Let's leave out US's math and science ranking in the world for a second. Let's also leave behind our lacking sense for the common knowledge. Let's just take a step back and picture what our nation just created. In other words, what is the objective of schooling?

I am personally currently in High School, which means that I'm exposed to the seriousness of not-turning-in-a-homework. If I don't turn in a homework, my GPA (Grade Point Average) may drop. And if my GPA drops, then my chances of getting into a nice university could be squandered. And if I can't get into a nice university, my dream of earning massive moolah could be just a fallacious dream. And thus, I'm totally strapped down, with GPAs, and ACTs stripping me apart.

I took it a bit extreme, but we can see that schooling can severely limit an individual's true potential. BAHHH!!! Who needs to speak French in the future anyway? I'm learning it not because I want to, but an alternative language would seem impressive on my resume...

... which leads to my next point; we're learning just so we can get into Harvard. The motivation is all screwed up! We think we are "stupid" because we did poorly on tests, which is completely false. We should do what we want to do. In the real world, if you like to dance, but you do horrible on standardized tests, then you are labeled as mentally retarted and will be shunned by everybody and still not be able to dance. We should adopt some sort of policy that we can still catch up to our dreams and still do what we want.

In fact, the only subjects stressed on the standardized tests are reading and math. What if I wanted to be an artist? If I wanted to be an artist, then the school would first erase my "artistic" genes and install boring "reading and math" genes and scar me for life. My message: we should be successful even though we suck at math and reading. Being forced is a barrier to achieve your dreams. We should not learn because we are forced to; we should learn because we want to. We're soaking up information not because it's useful, but because the nation requires it. Yes, the nation requires us to do things we do not want.

Obviously and lastly, we all learn differently. Some people learn by moving around, others learn by listening to a audio, while a group may excel by learning while looking at a visual. But in class, we learn the way the teacher teaches it.

Yes, so there is a petit error in the schooling system. But our authority says a very blatant message: DEAL WITH IT!!! And if we don't, we will walk our future in shame. It's a simple lose-lose problem, where no outcome is good for you, unless the curriculum in school suits your needs perfectly.

So, there. Just deal with it.
That's what everybody does.
Go with the flow, or stick out like a sore thumb?
